Enrollment Procedures

A new family interested in enrollment at MIS should first schedule an observation with the class in which they would like to enroll. After this observation, the child is evaluated by the classroom teacher. The child is then invited to spend a day with the class in order to familiarize him / her with the children and classroom operations. Finally, the teacher, administrator, and parents decide upon the enrollment option which best suits the child and the school.

A new family interested in enrollment at MIS is invited to contact our enrollment coordinator to set up a school tour and a class observation. On your scheduled date there will be a brief meeting to explain about the Montessori program and our classrooms. Parents will have the opportunity to walk through each age group classroom; the infant, toddler, primary and both lower and upper elementary. They will also be given a 15-20 minute sit-down observation in the classroom of the age of their child. Elementary-age children are invited to set up a time to spend 2-3 days in the classroom, after which the parents and the elementary teachers will discuss what is best for the child.
